FAA Complaint Filing Instructions

Once you have navigated to the FAA noise complaint page, click on the "I Agree" button on the Privacy Act Statement

Fill in the My Information and Event Information sections:

Click on the calendar icon to select the Start date and time:

Select the date of the event / incident you are reporting:

Then click the clock icon on the bottom left of the date window:

Select the starting time of the event / incident (make sure the AM or PM is correct - click to change):

Click the calendar icon to exit the time window and return to the date window:

Click the OK button on the bottom corner of the date window:

Click the calendar icon for the End date and time, and repeat the above process for the Start date and time.

If you happen to get an error message as shown in the picture, it means that your starting and ending dates or times are in the future, or the ending time is before the starting time. Go back and correct if needed.

Type in the Description:

  • Low flying plane.

  • Too much noise from training flights.

  • Can't enjoy my back yard from all of the noise.

  • Planes woke me up this morning.

  • Unable to take a nap.

  • etc.

Click on the Unknown field under Aircraft Type:

A drop down menu will appear. The most common type of plane at the Cottonwood Airport is the Propeller option. Click:

Type in the Airport Name: Cottonwood Municipal

Fill in the final portions of the form by clicking on the appropriate options. Unless it is a one time occurrence, click on "yes" for Repeat Occurrence.

Answer the remaining questions. If you want the FAA to send you a response, select Yes for Response Requested.

Then click the "I'm not a robot" box.

Once you have filled in all of the fields, locate the submit button at the upper right portion of the webpage.

If you missed any information on the form, it will be listed below the Submit button. Go back and fill in any missing information and then click on the Submit button.

Congratulations! You have successfully submitted a noise complaint to the FAA. Click here to begin the process.
